Position overview

 

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist team works closely with supply partners to keep Optimas competitive in a changing market.

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist Graduate will report into the Strategic Sourcing Team leader

 

Main responsibilities:

 

Strategic Sourcing Specialist graduates will be performing the following responsibilities and duties

 

  • Support the creation and management of Requests for Quotation (RFQs), developing a strong understanding of technical requirements and supplier capabilities.
  • Analyse and maintain supplier quotation data, building commercial and technical insights to support sourcing and resourcing decisions.
  • Learn how to manage minimum order quantities (MOQ), lead times, and inventory levels to support operational efficiency and free cash flow.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to help identify, evaluate, and deliver cost reduction opportunities that add value to the business and customers.
  • Contribute to the execution and continuous improvement of sourcing strategies using market pricing trends and supplier intelligence.
  • Build collaborative, professional relationships with supply partners and internal customer-facing teams.
  • Coordinate with Optimas support teams to ensure clear communication and effective delivery of sourcing activities.
  • Prepare resource packs for the Resource part to the local transition team

Skills and Qualifications

  • The ability, or strong willingness to learn, to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Fluency in English, with clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commercial mindset with an interest in how cost, pricing, and supply decisions impact customer value.
  • An understanding of the RFQ process, or the motivation to quickly develop this knowledge.
  • Fastener product knowledge (a strong advantage).
  • A high energy, “can do” attitude, self-starter, resilience, and a strong sense of urgency.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Pro efficient in Excel
